Senior Developer

For Hoppinger we are looking for a senior developer who wants to develop successful software with impact with his or her team.

As a senior developer at Hoppinger, you enjoy the freedom to shape your own structure to your team, your work and your collaboration with other disciplines within the organization. You have a central leadership role in your team and are a sparring partner for strategists, architects and other leads about improvements in projects and the organization as a whole.

You work closely with all disciplines within and outside your team. From fellow developers, engineers and data architects to strategists and designers. You are an important part of the 'triangle' where technology, user and strategy come together and together with the lead designer you play a crucial role in the interaction and communication with the customers and end users for whom we develop the digital solutions.

The range of tasks is versatile and divided between leadership and execution. For example, you support project and delivery managers in determining and monitoring the scope, requirements and planning and you play a crucial role in communicating with customers about these topics. In addition, you are also an active part of the team as software developers by writing, reviewing, organizing and structuring code within the projects. You proactively share your insights about the projects, code and progress and train junior and medior developers and engineers to become technical leads.

The Hoppinger team is highly data minded and innovation-driven. This means that you have never finished learning at Hoppinger and you actively contribute to knowledge sharing. Under the leadership of CTO Giuseppe Maggiore, Hoppinger continues to develop continuously in the field of technology and as a developer and lead you are regularly part of R&D projects in the field of technology, data and machine learning.

For this position we are looking for a talented developer who has or wants to gain experience with leadership. You love the beauty and complexity of code and software that doesn't break easily and is scalable. Words like type safety and immutability sound like music to your ears.

You love typing code, but not just for typing but because it allows you to make cool things that people want to use. You also know that it is therefore sometimes better to first put the architecture and requirements on paper;

As a senior, you are a true go-getter who motivates and encourages his team to get the job done and is not shy about challenging other leads, peers, team members and the client if necessary to achieve the best result. However, you also know your limits and know when to call in the expertise of others for the desired outcome.

• You feel at home in some of the following disciplines: C#, SQL, TypeScript, React, Drupal, Docker, Kubernetes;
• You have graduated in Computer Science or similar direction; 
• You have experience in a similar position;
• You speak and write Dutch and English at a professional level.
